Privacy Policy

Last updated September 8, 2026

Shield Low Voltage (“Shield,” “we,” “us”) installs and services security, networking and smart-home systems across Utah. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and in the course of our work, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It applies to sshpros.com and to the information you give us when you book, buy or work with us.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact and booking details — name, phone number, email address, city, property address, preferred appointment windows, and whatever you tell us about your project or problem when you use our contact form, booking scheduler, or call or text us.
  • Service records — details about the systems we install or service at your property: equipment, locations, configurations and service history. Keeping accurate records is part of doing this work properly.
  • Payment information — when you pay us, card and bank details are collected and processed by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our systems or our website.

Information collected automatically

  • Website analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location, device type). This is aggregate information; we do not use it to identify you.
  • Technical basics — our website host and our forms record standard technical data such as IP addresses, used for security and to prevent abuse (for example, rate-limiting form submissions). Form-related IP data is stored only as a one-way hash.
  • Embedded content — some pages embed third-party content, such as our customer reviews widget. Those providers may set their own cookies; their privacy policies govern what they collect.

What we do with it

  • Respond to your inquiry and schedule, confirm and perform appointments;
  • Design, install, service and support your systems;
  • Arrange professional alarm monitoring where you have asked for it;
  • Provide alarm certificates to your insurance carrier at your request;
  • Invoice, process payments and maintain business records;
  • Meet our obligations as a licensed Utah alarm company.

Text messages. When you book through our website or give us your mobile number, we may text you to confirm, remind or update you about your appointments and service. These are service messages, not marketing. Message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP or telling us — we will call or email instead.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.

Who we share it with

  • Monitoring providers — if your alarm is professionally monitored, your name, address, contact details and emergency contacts are shared with the monitoring platform and central station so they can respond to alarms and dispatch when needed.
  • Manufacturers and platforms — systems such as Alarm.com or UniFi require accounts with those providers. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies; we set these accounts up with you, in your name.
  • Your insurance carrier — only when you ask us to supply an alarm certificate.
  • Service providers — the vendors that run our website hosting, databases, payment processing and messaging, bound to use your information only to provide those services to us.
  • When the law requires it — in response to valid legal process, or where necessary to protect life or property.

Cameras and recordings

Camera and video systems we install are yours. Footage belongs to you, lives on your equipment or in your cloud accounts, and we do not have standing access to it. Where you grant us temporary access to diagnose or configure a system, we use it only for that purpose. You are responsible for using recording equipment in accordance with the law, and we will advise on sensible camera placement during design.

How long we keep it

We keep customer and service records for as long as you are a customer and as long afterwards as we reasonably need them — systems we install stay in service for many years, and accurate history matters when we service them. Inquiry records that never become jobs are periodically cleaned out. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see below); we may need to retain what tax, licensing or insurance obligations require.

Security

Securing property is our trade, and we apply the same seriousness to data: encrypted connections to our website and systems, access limited to staff who need it, and payment handling left to processors built for it. No system is perfectly secure, but if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information we will notify you as Utah law requires.

Your choices

  • Ask what information we hold about you;
  • Ask us to correct or delete it;
  • Opt out of text messages at any time;
  • Decline analytics cookies via your browser settings — the site works fine without them.

To exercise any of these, email info@sshpros.com or call (928) THE-PROS. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

Our services and website are directed at property owners and businesses, not children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with an updated date. Material changes that affect how we use information you have already given us will be flagged to you directly.
