Smart Arming Now Runs a Different Schedule Every Day

The best security system is the one that arms itself. Alarm.com’s Smart Arming now supports day-by-day custom schedules — so the system can run your actual week instead of one compromise schedule seven days straight.
What’s new
Smart Arming has long been able to arm and disarm automatically. What’s new is the granularity: each day of the week can now have its own routine. Early disarm on school-run weekdays, a lazy start on Saturday, armed all day Sunday if that’s when the house sits empty — each day gets its own rules.
- A different schedule for every day — weekday routines and weekend routines stop fighting each other
- Time-based or activity-based — arm at 11 PM sharp, or arm Stay after 30 quiet minutes; disarm with the first morning motion if you like
- Fewer false alarms — a schedule that matches real life is the single best cure for the 6 AM “forgot the system was armed” siren — and the false-alarm fines some Utah cities charge
- Set it anywhere — managed from the Alarm.com app or website in a couple of minutes
Our take
We set Smart Arming up on most systems we install, because an unarmed system protects nothing. Pair a Goodnight schedule with an arming reminder notification as the backstop and the house takes care of itself — and if you have an iPhone, the newer Quick Controls cover the exceptions from the Lock Screen.
